IAI Launches Film Series Telling Aluminium’s Sustainability Story

Series also showcases diverse careers in the aluminium industry and the sector’s critical role in sustainability

The International Aluminium Institute (IAI) has today launched a new film campaign that puts the focus on the people within the aluminium industry and their invaluable contribution to driving change.

Our People Our Story tells aluminium’s sustainability story and celebrates diverse careers within the industry and explores the many ways in which IAI member companies support sustainability goals.

The campaign is a series of short films in which representatives from IAI member companies, as well as other experts across the aluminium sector, reflect on why and how they entered the aluminium sector, how their careers have developed, the lessons they have learned, and the critical role aluminium plays in their working life.

Among the voices in this campaign are, a chemical engineer from Brazil, who tells us the aluminium industry “changed my life”, after her father’s work in scrap motivated her to study the topic; an industrial designer in Canada who chose aluminium when producing the 1976 Olympic Games Torch; and a regulatory affairs manager based in Belgium who talks about the importance of clearly explaining environmental compliance to politicians and decision-makers.

Our People Our Story looks at our industry through the lens of the people who work within it. By telling their stories, about their different roles and experiences, we are showcasing the breadth of what the aluminium industry has to offer.

“These stories highlight that our industry is united in our passion for this versatile, sustainable metal. We share a common purpose in using aluminium to shape a better tomorrow,”  says an IAI spokesperson.
