As part of the International Aluminium Institute’s (IAI) growing Women in Aluminium (WIA) initiative, we are proud to announce the launch of the Women in Aluminium Speaker Database—a platform designed to amplify the voices of women professionals in the aluminium industry and foster greater gender diversity at industry events.
While progress has been made in increasing women’s participation at conferences, panels, and seminars, there are still too many instances where women’s insights, expertise, and perspectives are absent from critical industry discussions. The WIA Speaker Database aims to change this by providing event organisers with direct access to a diverse pool of talented women who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise.
“Diverse perspectives lead to better discussions, stronger decision-making, and a more inclusive industry,” said Pernelle Nunez, IAI’s Deputy Secretary General and Director of Sustainability. “By launching this database, we aim to break down barriers and ensure that women’s contributions are actively sought and valued at every level of the aluminium sector.”
The WIA Speaker Database is open to women working across all areas of the aluminium industry, from sustainability and technology to business strategy and operations. If you are a woman in aluminium and are interested in sharing your expertise at industry events, we encourage you to nominate yourself or a colleague through the following link: Speaker Database Nomination Form.
