Used to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions savings through the light-weighting of passenger cars.

First published in 2014, this Excel-based calculator, developed by a group of aluminium and automotive industry experts, is the product of more than ten years of collaboration between European Aluminium and the IAI, with support from Ricardo Energy & Environment.

Refined by the IAI, the calculator now includes new data, an improved layout, case studies, and the option to select the source of the primary aluminium used in its carbon footprint.
