Climate Week NYC

Join the Global Beverage Can Circularity Alliance (GBCCA) at Climate Week in NYC on September 22, 2026 as we explore Advancing Aluminium Recycling as a Business Opportunity. Building on the success of the past two years, this year’s event is hosted by the US Aluminum Association, the Can Manufacturers Institute, and the International Aluminium Institute.

Location: 730 Third Avenue, Second Floor

Time: 3pm to 7pm ET

In alignment with this year’s Climate Week NYC theme of energy, impact, and action, the GBCCA will focus on driving meaningful actions that increase the recycling of aluminium beverage cans. Building on previous GBCCA events, this year we will explore the business case of advancing aluminium recycling.

In 2024, we highlighted the environmental benefits of aluminium beverage can recycling. In 2025, we explored innovative technologies that drive greater circularity. This year, we continue the journey by exploring aluminium recycling as a strategic and economic business opportunity, highlighting how investment, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration can drive growth while strengthening industry competitiveness.

The GBCCA event on September 22nd will include:

 Technical Session (2 hours):

  1. Product Carbon Footprint Methodology for Aluminium Beverage Cans
  2. 2026 Global Recycling Rates: Market Insights & Regional Deep Dive for Indonesia, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and India
  3. Case Studies: Creating Profitability through Strategic Investments in Aluminium Can Diversion from Municipal Solid Waste
  4. Tech and Investment Lab: Advancing Recycling as a Business Opportunity
  5. Soft Launch of 2027 Global Aluminium Can Sustainability Summit

Networking Reception (2 hours):

Following the formal session, we invite you to join us for a social hour dedicated to networking and deeper discussions on industry solutions and partnerships.

In addition to the main event, and new this year, we are offering two exclusive facility site visits:

  • A tour of a New Jersey Material Recovery Facility featuring equipment investments supported by a leading beverage brand on September 21, and
  • A visit to an AI-powered recycling facility in Virginia on September 23, showcasing how artificial intelligence is used to separate recyclables from municipal solid waste.

If you would like to attend either facility visit, please indicate your interest during the registration process. Space is limited and participants will be selected by the respective facility managers.
