Mapping Study on Aluminium Melt Purification from Post Consumer Scrap

Published in

2023

European Aluminium and IAI commissioned German based consulting company MiMITech to evaluate how to remove impurities from contaminated aluminium melts, and find a better understanding of the negative effects of concerned impurities during aluminium production and fabrication. Both removal technologies and neutralisation technologies were investigated for 21 impurities including Copper, Iron and Magnesium. The full report is now available and includes detailed recommendations for each impurity level and type.
